Living & Studying in Malaysia

Brothers and Sisters in Islam, Assalam Alaikum

To introduce myself, I'm Miqdaad Mohamedali Ramani originally from Dar es salaam, Tanzania. Having completed my A levels at Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary in February 2006 and realizing that further education is no more an option but of virtual necessity in today’s rapidly moving world, I decided to travel to Malaysia to pursue my further studies. As at present I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Business & Management at Nilai International College, Malaysia. The certificate being awarded by Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom.

Being in Malaysia for the past six months, I consider the country to be a safe destination whose government is committed to visitor and student safety. By the grace of Allah (s.w.t) and with the help from my fellow community members, settling into a new and competent environment was made relatively easier. Meeting and spending time with fellow community members especially from Mombasa and Nairobi is surely one principal experience I will take along after completion of my studies. Meanwhile Malaysia has a tropical climate whereby I enjoy the warm days and mild evenings. English is widely spoken although the national language is Malay. I have also had the opportunity to experience the fascinating cultural mix that the country offers including colorful festivals, architecture, food and greenery. Malaysia attracts many students internationally as the tuition fees and cost of living is relatively low and affordable compared to other parts of the world such as the United Kingdom, America and Canada.

Studying at Nilai International College has been one of the most vital of experiences I have had so far. The lecturers being highly qualified use modern and advanced technological materials during the lecture and tutorial sessions. The library, common study rooms, computer labs and internet facility provide a favourable environment for studying as well as carrying out daily activities in an efficient manner. Various sports activities such as football, cricket and volleyball take place at the college during the evenings whereby I easily socialize with students from more than 50 countries throughout the world, thus getting to know different people with different culture and maintaining a healthy body as well.

For those willing to know more about the college and the courses they offer, you can log on to the college website at I can also be contacted on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if any further assistance is required.

Thanking you all for your time and wishing you good luck in the future.
